The Valley of the Sun is located in the Sonoran Desert, surrounded by an array of mountains that make for some great hiking. The Superstition Mountains, White Tank Mountains, Sierra Estrella, South Mountain, San Tan Mountains, McDowell Mountains, Goldfield Mountains, and Usery Mountains all surround the Phoenix area.

Sedona is known for it beautiful red rock and eye-catching mountains surrounding this little town. Beautiful landmarks and a quaint town center are a huge part of what draws visitors here. There are lots of trails ranging from easy to medium in difficulty and anything that meets your desires with scenery.

Payson is most notably known for Fossil Creek and the trail leading up to it. There are a handful of other trails in Payson as well as tons of spots for camping in the Tonto National Forest area. Enjoy a peaceful creek trail, overlook the Mogollon Rim, or go for a peaceful stroll through the woods.

The Grand Canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is not only expansive, but vastly different with each of the areas in the canyon. From wooded green areas to desert temperate areas. Seeing it from the top makes it almost look like a painting in the distance. It's so active and so serene at the same time with so many various trails to choose from.

Zion may not have the same draw that the Grand Canyon has when it comes to popularity, but it has some amazing views and hikes that will take you by surprise. Opposite of the Grand Canyon, where you are at the top looking down, in Zion you are dwarfed by looking up at the sheer mountain walls shooting up from the base of when you enter into Zion.

Denver...the Mile High City. A city that is unique, beautiful, and has so much to offer. The Denver area is similar to Phoenix, in that you are in a valley area surrounded by mountains.
